Writing to Inspire

Blog

My Friend Margaret

Posted by anonymous on November 26, 2009 at 2:33 AM

Thank you to those of you who commented on my blogs about Margaret. Sometimes and unwittingly I can be guilty of sharing things that perhaps I should not. I received an accusatory email from someone telling me I was breaking confidences by sharing my relationship with Margaret. (Not from you dear friends) I decided it was better to remove the blogs.

I will still write about Margaret, but keep my writings in a file. I talked to Margaret this evening and she was quite happy with what I had written. And we had a good chat too.

Blessings and God's peace for us all!

Mary

Courage...is our reflection...when we look into the Word of God and act out our convictions.

Congrats...on building good relationships.

I did not know of the problem, but appreciate your "reality" decision. God Bless at this Christmas Season

I think your heart just wanted to share....I'm glad Margaret is ok with what you wrote and it gave us a chance to pray for her and for you.....Take gentle care.

You shared from the heart, Mary. Your offering sincere. I was moved by the relationship between you and Margaret. I would rather read this than the rubbish I see in books disguised as novels. Perhaps you touched the nerve of someone who wished they had a caring, loving friend like you. Because of one individual, the rest of us cannot share in the heart-warming love and compassion which you shared. Pity! Still, we must pray for that individual in a forgiving way.
Be blessed....be comforted. Jesus cares!

Your writings about Margaret were instructive and inspiring, Mary. I appreciated your openness about your shortcomings and hers, and how you both have been "growing" a warm relationship inspite of them. A lesson for us all.

Mary, It's one thing to share without permission. Then, yes, one is crossing boundaries. It is another, completely, when the person involved has full awareness and has given consent. Perhaps instead of deleting the story, you could let Margaret read them first and then post at the top 'displayed with permission'. Then this person has no grounds upon which to stand. Blessings.

Funny how one negetive report can turn a good thing sour.
Gentle correction would have been a better way of approaching you on this matter rather than bringing an accusation.
I agree with Lena that we need to pray for the individual and not condemn them. Most importantly, we must not allow offense to enter in.
I also agree with Donna's comment that you continue to share with permission in place.
Better yet have Margaret assit you in writing her story. Who knows it could be a best seller.

Thank you for the notification, Mary.
Yes, it is a pity that your friendship encounters and reflections vis-a-vis Margaret are now removed from your blog.
However, I guess that we who write and post and /or publish biographical material involving others are given pause through your experience in this.
We, your friends, know your love and heart, and so does Margaret; that's why she and you are friends -- she knows you!
